LUNOS System with Heat Recovery(MVHR)

A LUNOS System with Heat Recovery (MVHR) is a decentralised ventilation system which efficiently recovers heat from all ventilation units which are strategically positioned around your home. LUNOS heat recovery units are installed in exterior walls, requiring no ductwork throughout your home! This is just one of the many benefits of LUNOS ventilation systems. The two main LUNOS components in a Heat Recovery system are:

1. e²
2. ego

 

1. The LUNOS e2 Heat Recovery unit is an ideal ventilation solution in rooms such as living rooms & bedrooms. LUNOS e² fans always operate in pairs. Therefore, an even number of units must always be installed in a property to ensure the units work properly.

How the LUNOS e² unit works…
The LUNOS e², at first, extracts air whilst absorbing the heat within the unit’s core. When the core is fully charged with heat, the fan changes direction & draws fresh, filtered air, from outside through the unit and into the room, whilst transferring the stored heat into this fresh air. Each LUNOS e2 unit is wired together with another, and whilst one unit is extracting, the other is drawing fresh air inwards – and vice versa. The LUNOS e² fan with heat recovery has a power consumption of just 1.4 Watts in base load operation (0.09 W/m3/h), that’s less than €5 in electricity costs per annum!

 

2. The LUNOS ego Heat Recovery Unit operates in a very similar way to a pair of LUNOS e2’s. However, operation in pairs is not required, since there are two fans built into each LUNOS ego unit, ensuring both supply and exhaust air with heat recovery.

How the LUNOS ego unit works…
As with the Lunos e2 Heat Recovery units, air is extracted, heat is stored and then the fan switches around and draws fresh, filtered air inwards, whilst transferring the heat. All the while, the other fan (in the same LUNOS ego unit is doing exactly the opposite!) When exhaust requirements are at a maximum (e.g. when in the shower), Exhaust Mode can easily be selected, where both fans within the LUNOS ego unit can be temporarily set to extract mode only.


Because LUNOS Heat Recovery units operate in pairs, air within the home is kept balanced at all times and without risk of this getting altered. On account of the decentralised concept, the individual fans can be installed exactly where they are required. There are no ducts to be installed, meaning a simple installation process for both new-build and retrofit.
