We’re delighted to offer an opportunity for a Skilled Labourer, to join our team, in an exciting, wide-ranging role, retrofitting and renovating homes throughout Connacht. The successful candidate would be joining a leading home energy retrofit and renewable energy company that offers a premium service and be working from our Castlebar base. This role may suit someone with experience in carpentry, plastering, tiling, plumbing or any other trade. Primarily, the role will involve the installation of various insulation systems, ventilation systems and solar PV panels in the field of energy retrofitting existing dwellings.

As a premium one-stop-shop service, we are looking for an extremely high level of workmanship and a willingness and ability to work on a very varied selection of work. We’re looking for a person who has pride in their work and is willing to go the extra mile to complete tasks to the highest-possible standard. You must be able to work on your own initiative, think ahead and problem-solve on the go.

This is a full-time, site-based role, based mostly in Co. Mayo.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Ensuring high-quality execution of all tasks at all times.
• Ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, manufacturer guidelines, building regulations, etc., at all times.
• Fitting external and internal wall insulation, attic and roof insulation and other insulations.
• Fitting windows, doors, thresholds and steps.
• Fitting airtightness membranes, tapes and other solutions.
• Fitting ventilation systems and products.
• Installing damp-proofing measures.
• General day-to-day construction tasks.
• Delivering consistently high standards, on time.

The successful candidate will have his/her own tools and be willing to travel to various sites around Connacht (mostly Mayo) for an 8am start. The candidate must be reliable, honest, trustworthy and represent Comfort Solutions Retrofit in the best way he/she can. Strong attention-to-detail is absolutely imperative and a very important trait of the chosen candidate. Flexibility is also important, and the candidate must have relevant experience.

Qualifications and skills:

• Proven ability and experience in construction-related trades.
• At least 5 years’ site experience.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Clean, neat and tidy worker.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good English understanding and speaking ability.
• Full, clean driving licence is required.
• Ability to work well with others and lead by example.
• Problem-solving skills are a prerequisite of this position.
• Current Safe Pass, Abrasive Wheels and Manual Handling Certificates.
