Slopping Ceilings

Seal the slopes, save on costs.

Many Irish homes with converted attics or rooms in the roof lose a large amount of heat through sloping ceilings. Without proper insulation, these spaces can feel uncomfortable. Installing sloping ceilings insulation ensures consistent temperatures, lower energy bills and a healthier home environment.

At Comfort Solutions Retrofit, we provide sloping ceiling insulation options for homes of all sizes. Whether you’re upgrading an attic bedroom, dormer or converted roof space, our team will advise and install insulation that maximises comfort and energy savings, all while helping you qualify for valuable SEAI attic insulation grants

WHY CHOOSE US

Here's what sets us apart:

  • Year-round comfort in attic rooms

Sloping ceiling insulation prevents heat from escaping through angled roof areas, making attic bedrooms, home offices, and converted roof spaces warmer in winter.

  • Lower heating bills and energy savings

Insulating your sloping ceilings can reduce heat loss by up to 20-30%, meaning your heating system doesn’t need to work as hard. Over time, this translates into significant energy savings.

  • Improves the usability of converted attics

Without proper insulation, sloping ceiling spaces can feel draughty and cold. Insulation transforms these areas into comfortable, usable living spaces all year round.

  • Boosts your BER rating

Adding insulation to your sloping ceilings improves your home’s building energy rating (BER), increasing energy efficiency and adding value to your property.

  • Reduces draughts and cold spots

Proper insulation eliminates draughts caused by poorly insulated roof sections, creating a consistent temperature throughout your home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is sloping ceiling insulation important?

Rooms in the roof often lose more heat than standard walls or attics. Insulating sloped ceilings makes these spaces far more energy-efficient and comfortable.

Yes. Properly installed insulation helps eliminate cold draughts from the roof space, improving overall comfort.

If your attic rooms feel very cold in winter & it is taking more energy to heat the room it is likely that heat is escaping through your sloping ceilings.

The plasterboard on the ceiling will have to be remove to fully fit the insulation behind between the joist. After the insulation is fitted, an airtightness layer is fitted, and this is covered up with a plasterboard and fully plastered up.
