The Deep Retrofit programme has been designed to give substantial support to homeowners who are willing to invest in their home and bring the BER of the building up to at least an A3. Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme

EI-EEOS LogoDiscounts are now available from energy companies in return for "energy credits", under the Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme (EEOS) for energy efficient works on your home. Being a retrofit partner of Kore, we are working through Electric Ireland to bring these discounts to our customers. This is a futher incentive for homeowners to retrofit their homes in an energy efficient way. Comfort Solutions Ireland can apply these discounts for our customers when you choose us as your retrofit partner. The discount will be applied, in full, to your next Electric Ireland electricity bill. If you are not an Electric Ireland customer, this is not a problem but you would need to switch. These are significant discounts and in addition to SEAI grants and tax incentives, make this a superb time to consider a home energy upgrade. (Please note that we can also register these energy credits and offer you a small discount if you are not an Electric Ireland customer)

Heat Pump Grant

OutdoorA cash grant is now available to assist with the cost of installing a heat pump in your existing home. Please beware that it's of the upmost importantance that your contractor and the proposed heat pump are registered and certified respectively, for grant eligibility. There have been many, many cases of heat pumps being installed and when it comes around to claiming the grant, funding is denied because the heat pump didn't have the required certification and/or the contractor or his installer was not registered with SEAI. At Comfort Solutions Ireland, we guarantee only high quality and correctly certified heat pumps and all our installers are suitabely qualified, experienced and registered for heat pump installations.

All homeowners, including landlords, whose homes were built and occupied before 2011 can apply. This is defined as the date your electricity meter was installed. Note that this is different to other grant measures where the home must be built before 2006.

Solar PV grant

PV image from SEAI siteAs of the 31st July 2018, there has been grant funding in place for homeowners who install a solar PhotoVoltaics (PV) system in their home.

This scheme supports the installation of solar PV panels for the generation and self-consumption of renewable electricity. The scheme is grant aided and there are additional grants available to those who install battery storage to capture the electricity they generate for use at a later date (available for larger systems only).

The 2018/2019 pilot scheme ran until Dec 2019. In Jan 2020, the grant switched to a more traditional grant scheme model, much like the existing insulation grants, etc. The scheme remains open for business but please note that the grant amounts have changed from the original pilot scheme.
