Shallow Energy Retrofits - Comfort Solutions Retrofit

Shallow Energy Retrofit

A shallow energy retrofit is a practical first step toward making your home more energy efficient. Unlike a deep energy retrofit, which involves a full package of upgrades and larger investments, a shallow retrofit focuses on around 2 – 4 targeted measures that quickly improve your home’s performance.

Smarter comfort, lower bills – Without major renovation

Every home is different, and not everyone needs or is ready for a full deep retrofit. That’s where a shallow retrofit comes in. By focusing on the improvements that matter most, you get the benefits of lower bills and a more comfortable home without the bigger commitment.

This upgrade style offers enough to make a noticeable difference, but is flexible enough to match your budget and lifestyle. Because the work is less invasive, you generally don’t need to move out or prepare for weeks of disruption.

A step towards a greener home

Energy retrofits don’t have to be all or nothing. A shallow retrofit gives you the chance to start small, see the benefits and then decide if you’d like to take further steps later on. Many of our customers who opt for a shallow retrofit begin with 2 – 4 upgrades, enjoy the results and return to build on those improvements over time.

Whether it’s better insulation or ventilation, smarter controls for your heating or a solar PV system, each measure reduces wasted energy and cuts your carbon footprint. Taken together, these improvements help create a home that’s healthier, more sustainable and ready for the future.

TESTIMONIALS

What Our Customers Say

A brilliant second experience. This is the second time Comfort Solutions has installed a solar PV system for me. From start to finish, the process went smoothly. Their workmanship was of the highest standard, and I am absolutely delighted with the finished product. The communication throughout was excellent, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is thinking of getting a renewable energy source in their home. I hope to get a heat pump installed next year, and I will be asked Comfort Solutions Retrofit to install that for me also.

A fantastic job, I would highly recommend the Comfort Solutions team. They did an extensive insulation retro fit in my house, as well as numerous related tasks. I have done many renovations before: this is the first time the crew got the job done how and when promised, they worked calmly and cleanly, and the result is impeccable. Fergus managed the job effectively, efficiently and pleasantly: his processes are efficient, his advice was solid and the paperwork all clear. They may not be the cheapest outfit in town, but for perhaps a fraction more you get a top class job, done professionally and on a timely basis.

In 2009, Comfort Solutions carried out external insulatio, attic insulation and ventilation for me.I was very impressed by the no-nonsense approach of the contractor, the price was agreed the contract completion date set and I was kept informed of progress and problems at all stages of the contract, everything was completed on time with no extras and the site was cleaned up every evening. I wish all the works on this site were comparable! I most certainly have no problem with giving Comfort Solutions a sterling recommendation.

We were very happy with the Comfort Solutions team. Fergus was extremely helpful and informative and answered all my questions. The work was done on time and on budget. Looking forward to a cosy winter with our new wood pellet boiler stove and our insulated dormer attic.

Very good service. Made a huge difference to our house’s heat retention. Fergus and the lads around him are very professional, clean and kept intrusions to a bare minimum. House was left perfect after work. Maria and Breffni were more than helpful on any query and grant application.

We have been delighted with the work done by Comfort Solutions. The whole process was professional from start to finish. The preliminary quotation was comprehensive and so allowed us to get a very good idea of what the total cost would be before we went ahead and agreed to the work. The work was carried out to a very high standard and we were updated on a regular basis and consulted if unexpected issues turned up. The house is noticeably warmer as a result of the work carried out. The place was left neat and tidy and our calls were always returned. We were also made aware of the various grants available for work of this kind, and had the process of application fully explained which is obviously helpful. All in all, we are very happy to have gone with Comfort Solutions and would have no hesitation in using them again, or recommending them to family and friends.

Comfort Solutions carried out a deep energy retrofit for me in 2010 and were for me, the ideal solution in providing a complete package of home energy, insulation and renewables improvements. I also appreciated their prompt and reliable service and the standard of finish was second-to-none and is often commented on by visitors.

I employed Comfort Solutions to install external insulation on my existing 1930’s house which has solid mass concrete walls. At the tender process I contacted a number of contractors, I found Comfort Solutions had the best system around, it is a patented system with a proven track record. Being a Civil Engineer myself I asked many questions about the product! I found Fergus very knowledgeable and able to answer any questions I asked straight away which put my mind at ease, he knew exactly what he was talking about and had a proven system which also is guaranteed which gave me extra peace of mind. Within a few minutes I knew that I had found the right contractor. Installation was quick and easy, and Fergus and his team carried out the work to an extremely high standard. I am delighted with the results as well, I have cut my heating costs by 50%, and my airtightness is excellent and the house is extremely comfortable. Their coloured render to the exterior of the insulation lasts for many years, which means no painting! If you are carrying out energy efficiency work on your house, look no further than Comfort Solutions.

Comfort Solutions completed a full energy retrofit on our 15 year old house, moving our BER from D to a B2: a great result. All work done very professionally, with a team that were expert, polite, clean and tidy, and very efficient. A small item needed follow up, and was done quickly. Plus, all grant applications were expertly and successfully handled by the office. We are delighted with the work done, and the service from all at Comfort Solutions. They are lovely people, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.
