Comfort Solutions Retrofit offer a range of high-quality background wall vents, which provide ventilation to habitable rooms in dwellings. Our specially designed Helios background wall vents are cost-effective but are much more advanced than the typical wall vents that were installed in Irish homes for many years.

All vents contain a dust and insect filter and a condensation shield is built into the front cover. The diffuser gently spreads the incoming air in all directions where the Coanda effect helps to distribute the air around the room without causing a draught. The 25mm sponge filter also acts as a sound damper and draught reducer. Filters are re-usable, washable and very simple to change. There are also a wide range of storm and allergy filter accessories available.

When air enters the room, it meets with the open vent cover and is directed along the external walls in all directions. The Coanda effect ensures the air is distributed in all directions before gradually being drawn out the door towards another vent on the opposite side of the building (cross-ventilation). This means that the incoming fresh air does not blow directly into the centre of the room and therefore does not cause uncomfortable draughts, even when open. All vents are fully closable and completely draught-proof. 

Our background wall vents are installed by coring external walls to the appropriate size and inserting a special ventilation unit into the cored hole. These units can also be installed into existing 102mm or larger holes. Comfort Solutions Retrofit offer a professional core drilling service, using professional core drilling equipment for this purpose and all installations are carried out in a professional and neat manner, leaving your home neat, clean and tidy, both inside and out. Our drilling is generally wet but we core from outside and we will not cause a mess inside your home. We can also core dry if required.

Effectiveness of this passive type ventilation will depend on atmospheric conditions, temperature differences and wind.
